Description This workshop has been developed around the Deanery’s Appraisal Procedure for Dental Nurses, Receptionists and Practice Managers. It aims to familiarise Appraisers with the Procedure and work through the skills required to carry out effective appraisals. It will be very participative.

Aims

Objectives By the end of the workshop, attendees will:
 
    •    Be familiar with the West Midlands Workforce Deanery’s Appraisal Procedure for staff
    •    Be clear as to what paperwork needs to be completed and evidence provided, to fulfil the appraisal requirements
    •    Have examined the skills required to carry out appraisals
    •    Explored techniques for gaining more information from the appraisal meeting
    •    Practised the skills required to carry out appraisals by appraising a colleague during the workshop.
